Fear of False Prophets in Your Religion

Almost any religion in the world today has a good backup plan. Jews, Christians and Muslims often teach their followers to fear any false prophets. The only problem is, that most of them, wouldn't know a false profit from a real one. Has anyone here ever heard of Jim Jones, if you haven't heard of him, I don't want to spoil your fun. Go to one of the Internet search engines and type in "Jim Jones founder of the Peoples Temple."

How many of us have followed false prophets and never even had knowledge of it? Have you ever put your heart into something like a relationship, job, education, home, raising children, only to find out later that you were wrong and the effort that you put into this, didn't seem to work out as you thought it would.

Why would religion be any different? You believe in and follow your religion when they tell you, not to watch a movie or read a book because it mentioned something or shows something that's wrong, you simply obey and follow. Most of the time the followers will never question their leaders. Why is this? Fear quite of what others might think or because somehow they have put their religious leaders a couple of notches above them on their social ladder.

The deeper you become entrenched in your religious organization, the easier it is for you to be controlled or manipulated by the leaders. These leaders seem to take on a mystical like form, someone with all the answers, some one to look up to as an adult and often they will inspire their children to be like them. Often we don't even have to tell our children because we look up to them and often create an illusion in our children's minds that these people are great. It's easy to do, lead by example and follow the leader.

It's sad to look back in history at the false profits. These people used religion to satisfy their personal needs at the expense of their followers. You could be following a religion, government, community or even your parents down the wrong path, and only later in your life will you realize that they were wrong. How many people have taught their children to hate somebody, only to find out later in your life that this was wrong or didn't feel right in your heart?

There is a way to provide you with a little relief. Education - education -and a little more education can provide you with the knowledge to ask these people the right questions. If they can't answer your questions or have no desire to answer them, maybe they shouldn't be your religious leaders.
